Great news for anyone who was planning on donating to our Strut Your Mutt fundraiser - now through October 9th, every day that New Leash On Life raises at least $9, we will be entered into a drawing for a $500 Visa gift card.
Even though we have already reached our fundraising goal, every bit helps to save more animals. Together, we can Save Them All!
What are your plans this Sunday, October 9th? If the answer is, "Nothing", then do we have an event for you. From 11am-4pm visit Hart Park in Newhall, CA and meet all of the adoptable dogs and cats from local shelters and non-profit organizations. There will also be a low cost vaccination clinic, dog show, raffle opportunities, vendors, and food trucks. It is free to attend. Spread the word so that all your friends and family can have a great time and adoptable dogs and cats can find their furever homes.
Sentimental Saturday? Better late than never, we wanted to give a huge tail-wagging THANK YOU to HandsOn Santa Clarita for choosing New Leash On Life as part of their 9/11 Day of Service. Volunteers cleaned our three-story building, reinforced or replaced roofing tiles, mended fencing, and organized our garage and storage unit. Amazing! We are so proud to have HandsOn as a valuable partner in our volunteer program.
When you fill out a volunteer application for New Leash On Life, there is a section for ‘skills’ to select; ones that could be valuable to a dog rescue. They include Customer Service, Grooming, Veterinary Care, Building Maintenance, Dog Training, Grant Writing, Receptionist, Videographer, just to name a few.
The Petco Foundation announced its Holiday Wishes grant campaign, giving New Leash On Life the opportunity to receive $100,000 but we need your help! If you adopted your pet from us, share your story about how your adopted pet brings you more joy each day. If we are selected for the grand prize you will receive a gift, too - a $1,000 Petco gift card. Submit your story about how your adopted pet changed your life here.
Seriously. We can't with this photo. A rescue dog, a favorite book, and helping out a local non-profit. This is the best win-win situation we can think of. If your child needs to complete community service hours, New Leash On Life is happy to accomodate that with Doggy Reading Groups and Mobile Pet Adoptions for children as young as 8.
Sweet, shy, and adoptable Kipp is still awaiting that special someone who can give him a loving, quiet home. Kipp is very friendly, but will take a little time for him to warm up to you initially. He is very gentle and is ready to find a family of his own! Submit an adoption application for Kipp, today!
When an adoption is meant to be, our dogs know it. Annabel had a happy tail wag, huge smile, and was so excited to get in her forever family's car. We couldn't be happier even though staff and volunteers will miss their "favorite". Congratulations Annabel!

School is back in session for us humans, so why not for our dogs, too? We are now accepting training reservations for our 6 week basic obedience course starting on Saturday, September 3rd from 10-11am!
