Dinner time is always a favorite time of day at New Leash On Life, for dogs and staff! This picture was taken last October – we couldn’t help but giggle over the sight of all those bowls. Does your family vacation during the summer months? If so, make sure your precious pet is taken care of while you are gone. Find more information and make a reservation (as you can tell we can get very busy so book as soon as possible) at #flashbackfriday

McKenna has been volunteering with us for a short amount of time but her help has made a long-term impact on our dogs. As an Animal Care Attendant, McKenna helps New Leash On Life staff with various tasks such as walking, feeding, and playing with our rescue dogs.

The Habit - Valencia Fundraiser for NLOL

What is better on a Tuesday night than a burger, fries, and a milkshake? Nothing!

Today from 4-10pm at the McBean Pkwy, Valencia location, proceeds from your purchase at The Habit will go towards New Leash On Life when you mention the event at the register. This will help us complete the newly installed kitchen cabinets and dog food storage bins.

The Habit has a dog friendly patio so bring the whole family. See you there!

Giving Tuesday - TODAY!

Giving Tuesday was created as a global day dedicated to giving back. We all know Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, yet these days focus on commerce and purchases. With Giving Tuesday that mold is meant to be broken – it celebrates the joy of giving time, donations, knowledge, or anything else you can offer.

The Downside of Dog Food

While nearly every dog owner goes to the supermarket to buy dog food for their pet and most are assured they are nutritionally balanced, commercial pet foods may not be in your dog’s best interest.  Like human ‘ready meals’, they can contain ingredients that shouldn’t have any place in the diet and they just aren’t as good for your dog as fresh food.

Why you should avoid dry food

Titan - Our Prodigal Son

While genetics might argue differently, if we accept that ‘Friends are the family we choose,’ clearly all our rescued, adopted critters are indeed family. Take the case of Titan.

As many of you know, our beautiful Titan was lost in early Spring of this year after he escaped from his adopter's yard.  New Leash On Life launched a major outreach to find him: We posted thousands of fliers, networked him online, called in Search and Rescue Dogs, placed cameras, feeding stations, watering holes, and people all over the areas where he was spotted.
