With proper obedience training, respect, and trust, all dogs can be good dogs! New Leash On Life has an upcoming Group Obedience Training session scheduled.
This has been an amazing late October/November for adoptions - and it is only the first week. Barkley, Kane, Marlo, and Kipp & Rhys (together!) were adopted within this week alone. We couldn't be any happier for them! The icing on the cake is that lets us pull more dogs from the county shelters for our rescue. There are 5 new-to-our-rescue adoptable dogs awaiting to meet their forever families. Keep an eye on our website for their adoption photos and profiles.
New Leash On Life was evacuated due to the Sand Fire on Saturday, July 23rd. While staff, volunteers, and all dogs have made it safely to an evacuation center, our focus still remains on our mission "Saving the Lives of Homeless Animals" by finding forever homes for our 15 adoptable dogs. We are still currently accepting adoption applications online. All of our available dogs can be found here.
Due to the recent fires in the area, we evacuated from the NLOL facility on Saturday. All 34 dogs are fine and are currently located at Hart High School in Newhall. Red Cross is also set up separately for displaced families.
We appreciate all of your support during this difficult time.
Who is this precious pair of pooches? Annabel and Kane of course! We didn’t realize until today how perfect they are together. Is there a dog wedding in NLOL’s future?
For now, meet Annabel, Kane, Shadow, and Cosmo at No Kill Los Angeles’ Adoption Event being held today and tomorrow (11am – 6pm) at The Autry in Griffith Park, 4700 Western Heritage Way. We would love to meet our supporters and tell you about our rescue efforts, training programs, and boarding facility.
If you love to start the day with a cup of great coffee or artisan tea, life just got better. Giving Bean coffee and tea purchases now support New Leash On Life with every sip. Giving Bean is a unique high quality coffee and tea company shipping their freshly roasted coffee and tea (same day roast and ship) as a fundraiser directly to homes and offices everywhere. We will receive 25% on most items.
Looking for volunteer opportunities for a child ages 5-12? Look no further than New Leash On Life’s Doggy Reading Groups. For an hour, they will have the opportunity to read to our rescue dogs while practicing their reading skills and building confidence, and learning about animal awareness, care, and safety. There is no better way to spend time with your family and with our adorable adoptables. Sign up to volunteer at newleash.org and we will see you at our next reading group!
Notice something different on our site -- like, say, new pup pictures?! That's because we had a very special visitor stop by the Ranch on Monday!
We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Tanya of That Spunky Monkey Pet Photography to ensure our rescues are showcased on adoption websites as they should always be: in the best light, in their natural environment, being their natural, unique selves.
Frazier was quite an amazing rescue. Just a puppy, Frazier had all the good nature, behavior and attitude of a much older dog. So much so that we considered using him for our Lend A Paw therapy dog program. Frazier came to us from the Lancaster shelter where they had picked him up as a stray. He had so many homes interested in adopting him it is a surprise that he even got out of isolation before he went home! But now he's in his perfect forever home where he can run and play with the kids and relax in the house with mom and dad. Congratulations Frazier!
