New Leash On Life staff cannot say enough good things about Team SCV volunteers. Not only were they courteous and thorough, you could tell that they LOVE all dogs. On Saturday they put up Halloween decorations, cleaned our facility and outside pens, and socialized with our adoptable rescue dog, Kane. It was a great morning and we can't wait to see them all again.
Sentimental Saturday? Better late than never, we wanted to give a huge tail-wagging THANK YOU to HandsOn Santa Clarita for choosing New Leash On Life as part of their 9/11 Day of Service. Volunteers cleaned our three-story building, reinforced or replaced roofing tiles, mended fencing, and organized our garage and storage unit. Amazing! We are so proud to have HandsOn as a valuable partner in our volunteer program.
When you fill out a volunteer application for New Leash On Life, there is a section for ‘skills’ to select; ones that could be valuable to a dog rescue. They include Customer Service, Grooming, Veterinary Care, Building Maintenance, Dog Training, Grant Writing, Receptionist, Videographer, just to name a few.
Seriously. We can't with this photo. A rescue dog, a favorite book, and helping out a local non-profit. This is the best win-win situation we can think of. If your child needs to complete community service hours, New Leash On Life is happy to accomodate that with Doggy Reading Groups and Mobile Pet Adoptions for children as young as 8.
Jennifer has done nothing but shine since she started her volunteer stint at NLOL. Originally a court-ordered volunteer, Jennifer has shown a passion and drive like no other; she has since become our second Volunteer Mobile Pet Adoption Coordinator, and both her wonderful children volunteer at NLOL as well.
Today was a special day to honor all of the volunteers at New Leash On Life. While they are appreciated every day, on this day they were able to bring their dogs to the Ranch, have snacks and drinks, play outdoor games, and of course partake in our photo booth. Have you been interested in volunteering with New Leash On Life? Go to our volunteer page, find out how you can help, and fill out an application today: http://nlol.org/volunteer-0.
Looking for volunteer opportunities for a child ages 5-12? Look no further than New Leash On Life’s Doggy Reading Groups. For an hour, they will have the opportunity to read to our rescue dogs while practicing their reading skills and building confidence, and learning about animal awareness, care, and safety. There is no better way to spend time with your family and with our adorable adoptables. Sign up to volunteer at newleash.org and we will see you at our next reading group!
McKenna has been volunteering with us for a short amount of time but her help has made a long-term impact on our dogs. As an Animal Care Attendant, McKenna helps New Leash On Life staff with various tasks such as walking, feeding, and playing with our rescue dogs.
Anthony and his fellow Boy Scouts are our “Favorite Volunteers of the Day”! Not only did they build two new benches for our pool area, but they also planted trees and installed a new dog door. We love and appreciate projects that benefit our dogs and the longevity and beautification of our facility. Would you like to volunteer at New Leash On Life or start a project with your Boy or Girl Scout troop? Please contact us and we can see if we would be a good fit – email@example.com.
Remember back in December when we announced our office renovation (http://nlol.org/blog/donation-items-needed-office-renovation-project)? It is still moving along, especially with the help of our wonderful volunteers. Here is volunteer Ally painting away. Thank you, Ally!
